I’ve been using oils in my skincare regime for about 25 years. It’s good to see the rest of the world catching up. Beauty oils are having a moment. And if you find the right ones, it won’t be just a moment – like me, you’ll be hooked for life.
Humans have known about the benefits of natural oils for thousands of years. In Ancient Egypt, workers even received body oil as part of their daily wages. If that happened today, the world could be a better place. Hang on – I may just have solved the Southern Rail crisis.
Massaging your face and hair with natural oil is one of the best beauty treatments ever. Today there are dozens to choose from; fantastically named (and fantastically expensive) new blends seem to appear every month.
However, you don’t need anything fancy and you don’t need to spend a fortune. A large jar of cold pressed, organic coconut oil costs less than a tenner and is supremely moisturising for hair and skin. Ordinary kitchen olive oil makes a fantastic intensive hair treatment. Apparently Jerry Hall’s been using it forever. And at 59 she just bagged a billionaire. OK, it’s Rupert Murdoch but you can’t have everything.
Just make sure you buy the best quality, purest, cold pressed, organic oil you can afford. No chemicals or unnecessary additives, no animal testing, preferably Fair Trade. You won’t find a better beauty treat than that.
