Fresh flowery classic
Neal’s Yard is a British brand I’ve loved since they first opened in 1981. In those dark Dickensian days, natural organic skincare was hard to find, so they were like a shining beacon of light in London’s Covent Garden.
They’ve always been cruelty free, too, which is really important to me, because animal testing for beauty is like fighting for peace or shagging for chastity. It doesn’t make sense!
Since I was a slip of a girl, there’s one Neal’s Yard product I come back to again and again – their divine Geranium and Orange Hand Soap.
It contains organic essential oils of rose, geranium and orange. What a combination! It’s fresh, floral, citrussy and summery, with a real feel good factor. So just the simple act of washing your hands gives you a lift and leaves you (and your bathroom) smelling amazing.
You can double the wow factor, with the matching Geranium and Orange Hand Lotion. It’s softly fragranced with the same uplifting scent, and light enough to use after every hand wash.
I can honestly say I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t love this scent or adore the blue glass bottle. Even all these years later, when there are so many other lovely organic products to choose from, I still think it’s an absolute classic.
