Perfectly soothing after sun
I love skin salves and balms. In fact, I love them so much that I find myself longing for some kind of skin emergency, just so I can choose one from my extensive collection. Bring on the insect bites, rashes, cuts and grazes, bruises, spots, windburn and sunburn – I’m ready for you!
The other day, I caught the sun on my face and decollété (I was wearing sunscreen but I was out all day and so it wore off). I went straight to one of my favourite balms to calm the redness and soothe the damage.
Inlight’s Calendula and Damask Rose Soothing Balm is 100% organic and produced here in the UK. It’s made from a fantastically skin-friendly mix of oils, including olive, coconut, sesame, sunflower, evening primrose and jojoba. It also contains Calendula, famous for its healing and anti-inflammatory properties, and Damask Rose oil, full of regenerative and antioxidant goodness.
Along with the beautiful ingredients, it smells delicious and is divine to use. Like all oil based balms, salves and creams, it’s even nicer in hot weather, because the consistency becomes super soft, so it seems to melt into your skin.
After the sunburn incident I slathered on loads – it’s amazing how much your skin soaks up when it needs it. Next morning my skin was soothed, soft and supple.
I prefer it to the specialist after sun lotions I’ve used. Even better, it’s multipurpose, so you can use it for lots of other skin emergencies too.
TookyTip: if you don’t like feeling too oily, apply one thin layer, wait until your skin has absorbed it, then follow with a second thin layer.
